The museum was opened in 2009 and combines the collections of the University of Newcastle and the Museum of Archaeology and Art Shefton Greek. This modern complex worth 26 million pounds has an impressive collection of archaeological exhibits, including remnants left behind by Roman builders of Hadrian’s Wall. It is a museum suitable for families with children. It has a planetarium and a zoo exhibit. The museum is located near the centre of the city.
