Clifton Suspension Bridge, which serves as a crossing over the River Avon, is the symbol of Bristol, which is why you should not miss it. It is designed by the same architect who created the SS Great Britain, Isamabard Kingdom Brunel. Bridge construction was halted in 1831 and continued for several years after Brunel’s death, was completed in 1864. Bridge has a morbid little fame, some people telling him “Suicide Bridge” because two people died during its construction. From 1974 to 1993, 127 people have been killed falling off the bridge.
